Cutting-edge science that could benefit patients too often never makes it out of the lab

Academic research has always played a vital role in drug discovery, but getting research from the lab to patients is a complex, time consuming process with many barriers. We need more effective partnerships between universities and the pharmaceutical industry experts to bring basic biomedical discoveries from bench to bedside.
